Answers to the questions we hear most often from customers sourcing Swiss-machined parts.
What lot sizes do you run?
We run everything from prototype quantities to large production lots — one job might be five pieces, another 160,000. Most orders fall in the 1,000 to 10,000 piece range, but don't let a small or large quantity stop you from asking for a quote.
Do you only do Swiss machining, or other processes too?
Swiss machining is all we do. We don't have equipment for secondary operations, which is exactly why we've built our process around completing complex, multi-feature parts entirely on our Swiss machines in a single chucking.
What tolerances can you hold?
We routinely hold tolerances to ±0.0005" on critical features. Because parts are machined complete in one setup, we avoid the tolerance stack-up that comes from re-fixturing between multiple operations.
How long is your typical lead time?
Lead time depends on part complexity, tooling requirements, and quantity — a quick prototype run and a large production order don't move at the same pace. Contact us with your specs and we'll give you a realistic timeline for your specific job.
How do I submit a request for quote?
Use our Request For Quote page to send us your part drawings and specifications. The more detail you can provide up front — material, tolerance, quantity, and finish requirements — the faster we can put together an accurate quote.
What file formats do you accept for drawings?
Standard PDF prints are the most universal, and we can also work with common CAD formats. If you're not sure what to send, get in touch and we'll walk you through it.
What materials do you machine?
We work with the metals commonly used in Swiss-machined components, including stainless steel and other bar-stock alloys suited to close-tolerance turning. Tell us your material requirement on the RFQ and we'll confirm we can run it.
What size parts can you produce?
Our Swiss machines are well suited to small, intricate parts, including long parts with a length-to-diameter ratio greater than 5:1 that would otherwise be prone to deflection on conventional equipment. If you're unsure whether your part fits our capabilities, send us the print.

Can you handle parts with complex, multi-operation geometry?
Complex parts are our specialty. We're known for machining parts with multiple operations — features on both ends, cross-holes, threads, grooves — complete in a single setup, including 4-axis simultaneous machining where the part calls for it.
Do you offer prototype runs before committing to full production?
Yes. We run prototype quantities as small as a handful of pieces with the same process discipline as a full production order, so what you validate at the prototype stage reflects what you'll receive at volume.
How do you ensure consistent quality across a large production run?
Because parts are machined complete in one chucking, there are fewer opportunities for variation to creep in between operations. We monitor tolerance throughout the run rather than relying solely on final inspection, so quality holds from the first piece to the last.
Where are you located, and do you ship nationwide?
We're located in Fairfield, Ohio, and we ship parts to customers across the country. Location isn't a barrier to working with us — most of our communication with customers happens by phone, email, and shared drawings.
